West Branch International Music Festival and Academy

Mark your calendars for July 18-August 1,2010 when my distiguished colleagues are expanding the West Branch Internation Music Festival to include an academy for gifted young string players from all over the world. This two-week intensive course of study will run concurrently with the music festival itself. Featuring an immersive program of individual lessons, chamber music coachings, lectures, masterclasses and participation in the festival string orchestra, the program aims to address multiple facets of the creative process from the analysis of scores to fundamental technical questions, to psychological preparation for performance, in a nurturing environment. The faculty and guest artists are drawn from today’s performance world and feature leading soloists and chamber musicians from around the world. This year’s festival hopes in particular to feature prominent artists from Denmark and Scandinavia as well as Israel, South America, and the United States.
