Odin Rathnam: In Recital
This recording is from a live recital at Saint Michael's Chapel in Harrisburg, PA given in May of 2006, featuring primarily French sonatas. My decision to add the Mozart and the "Berceuse" was inspired by performances I heard as a child with Pinchas Zukerman, whose natural musicianship and exceptional tonal control became a model to me. The Leclaire was similarly inspired by videos I watched of David Oistrakh. The Saint-Saens Sonata, while not as deep as the music of Brahms or Beethoven, is such a great audience piece and the Faure helped to round out the French theme. I do hope you will enjoy these performances.
